Celebrating #HispanicHeritageMonth

The Norco High Mariachi Ensemble has recently grown with the addition of several talented student musicians that perform a range of traditional and popular music based on Norteño and Banda styles.

While unofficially dubbed The Banda Boys, their sound is more closely related to the Norteño style of music, evolving from Northern Mexico that incorporates a small-group dance form led by accordion and bajo sexto (a Mexican 12-string instrument).

While they have only been rehearsing and learning as a group for the last several weeks, they have harnessed their skills to produce a performance set of music that was recently played alongside the Mariachi Ensemble last week for Hispanic Heritage Month.

The performers are Alessio Gava, Felipe Gutierrez, Alex Mendoza, Abraham Barajas, Abraham Delatorre, Manny Cervantes, Anthony Nunes, Noah Jimenez, and Aron Medina.
